Hello every one,
My name is Jana, well really is my nickname.
I am here because of a wish, yes I know this sound different, no body want to study for wish. I really want. I want to study a PhD.
I change my country and have moved all my family, two children, my husband and my crazy dog to here just looking for my dream.
I hope that will be enough strong to do all this effort.
In Spain I had my job which was hard but funny. Every day my partner and me had different projects to do. I enjoyed that time.
Now, times are challenged and I have to do different things to continue my professional career in another way. The way of the education. It is a change but I have to do it.
In my opinion the worst thing you can do, is not try the things you think about them. My grandma always told me "when you have think about something that you really want to do, do it, if not you always be sorry".
Now when I have to take a decision, I remember this words.
What do you think about my grandma words?
Jana, I think its so great that you are here with your whole family! Maybe we can meet them sometime. Can you remind us what your job was before? You are going for a PhD in Education, right?

DeleteOf course I can remember how was my job. I was a consultant and prepared European funds and grants for different business or universities. It was a hard job, but I liked it. I learnt about different kinds of business and how they work. Besides, to prepare this funds you ought to have partners from different countries and different continents (minimum 3 and maximum of 6). And I had to look for them.
The hardest part was that most of the concourses were almost in the same month. Prepare different grants of different areas was stressful. But on the other hand, funny and you could learn a lot.
Yes I would like to go a PhD in Education here in Fullerton. It is not very close from my last job but it is something that I really want to do.
For sure, when you want, we can meet our families! and we can talk about Spain and USA and their differences. Not so much about Morocco (I never visit it, ups!)

I hope you enjoy in our class, I am conscious that must be difficult prepare a long session like ours.

DeleteYes, you are right it is hard but not so much, take care of the house and stydy is not easy. I asked help to my husband and my children and they are doing very well. The most important is that it is only until May. It is not for a long time. If think so, it is easier to do the effort.

Hi Jana, this is Jimmy. It's sooooo great to have your families with you in US. And also I am happy for you that you can chase your dream. I always told myself:" If you have a dream, you gotta protect it." I guess is the same meaning like your grandma told you. Anyway, nice to meet you.

Hi Jana, I understand your feeling because I have the same condition. I think your grand momʼs statement is right. Whenever you feel to do something, so do it.

You and me make a big decision of changing our accomodaty life in our country to achieve something better. The way is studying more.
DeleteSometimes I fell like this is not my place, everyone is younger than me, most of our classmmates could be my sons. But I prefer don't think much more about it and continue my way. I am conscious that I have changed my life and it is very difficult for me and for my family: but once we have taken the decission it is better continuoe. Sometimes I see the life like a boat in the middle of the sea. The boat is floating but the waves are always fitting it: however the boat continuoe floating and following its way.
How do you feel?
